00:04
We'll begin by opening an existing project from the recent files page
00:10
and we'll zoom in region on the upper right corner of this building.
00:14
So we do that by right clicking
00:16
and from the shortcut, right click menu,
00:18
we will choose zoom in region
00:21
and then click in an empty area, drag the cursor to the right.
00:26
And when we let go,
00:28
we will now zoom into that area.
00:30
We're going to copy an existing window into another wall and the window
00:35
we're going to copy is one of these on the curved wall here.
00:38
If we hover, we can see the name of the family name of the family and type.
00:42
And if we select that window,
00:44
our properties pallet type selector will also inform
00:48
us as to the name of that family.
00:51
We're going to right click and from this menu, we're going to choose, create similar
00:57
and that will enable us to insert the same window into another wall.
01:01
So if I hover on my cursor in the middle of that wall there,
01:04
and we click there
01:05
that now inserts this window and notice it includes a tag,
01:10
we're now going to copy this window using the copy command.
01:13
So before we do that, we're going to go up to the ribbon and click on modify
01:18
and then come across and click on the window that we just inserted
01:22
in readiness to be copied.
01:24
So we'll click on that window
01:26
and from the contextual modify windows, tab, modify panel, we'll choose copy.
01:32
We'll click a start point which will be the middle of that window
01:37
and then we'll pan and zoom to the lower right hand corner of this building
01:42
and place that window
01:44
in that short wall on the bottom right hand corner.
01:48
Now we can see we've been successful in copying the window,
01:51
but unfortunately, it hasn't included the tag.
01:55
So we're going to undo that.
01:57
So if you go up to the quick axis toolbar and click undo
02:01
and then pan and zoom to the upper right corner
02:04
again where the window we require is already inserted.
02:07
The reason the tag wasn't included is because
02:10
we didn't include it in the selection window.
02:13
So we're going to click and drag around the window. But this time include the tag
02:19
and do the same thing again by going up to the ribbon
02:23
within the modifier panel and click copy,
02:27
pick where we want to start the copy, which will be the middle of the window.
02:30
And once again zoom and pan using the wheel on
02:33
our mouse to the bottom right corner of this building
02:37
and place the window
02:39
in that same wall
02:40
and we now see that we've been successful this time in copying both the window
02:45
and the tag.
02:47
We will now deselect the window by clicking in empty space
02:51
and double click the wheel on the mouse to a performer zoom to fit.
02:56
We're now going to copy a door using the same methods used for the window.
03:00
We're going to zoom in region. So we're going to right click again
03:04
and click zoom in region.
03:06
And this time we'll zoom into the middle of the building
03:09
like so, so so click drag diagonally across and release the mouse button
03:15
and that will zoom into that region successfully.
03:18
We're going to start by using create similar to insert this door along this wall.
03:24
So we select that door,
03:26
right, click
03:27
create similar
03:29
and we're going to place a copy of that door along the same wall.
03:33
And we see we've been successful,
03:35
we'll now choose modify to cancel that tool.
03:38
And this time using the copy command,
03:41
we're going to copy this door along the same wall it already exists in.
03:45
So we select the door first and from the contextual ribbon modify panel,
03:50
we click on copy
03:52
and we start the copy by clicking the middle of the existing door
03:56
and then move to an alternative location along that same wall.
03:60
And we can see that's now been copied.
04:02
What we're now going to do is move that door. So we're not gonna copy this time.
04:06
We're going to move it from this wall
04:09
and place it within this wall.
04:11
So while it's still selected,
04:13
we go up to the contextual ribbon and within the host panel, click on,
04:18
pick new host and we can see it's removed from that wall that it was already in.
04:23
And it now allows us to place that into any other alternative wall.
04:28
So I'm gonna place my cursor there.
04:30
I'm going to hit the space bar to reverse the swing
04:33
and then left mouse click to place that door within that wall.
04:39
I think gonna choose modifier to stop this process.
04:42
So we go up to the ribbon and click on, modify
04:45
and finally double click the wheel
04:48
to zoom to fit.
