So now we need to add the handrail to the back of stairs.
00:08
So let's go back to the level two floor plan view
00:12
and from the architecture tab,
00:14
we'll create a new rail in.
00:15
So from the circulation panel under railing, we'll choose sketch path.
00:23
So the railing type is handrail pipe,
00:25
which is what we've used on the rest of the stairs.
00:28
So we're going to create a new one. So let's choose edit type
00:33
and then we'll choose duplicate
00:35
and we'll call this one, the wall mount hand wrap.
00:38
So now we've duplicated it, we can start to make changes.
00:42
So first let's go to the row structure.
00:48
So on the current pipe hand rail that we were duplicated,
00:52
we had quite a lot of rows.
00:53
We just need to delete all of these off by selecting row one and choosing delete
00:58
and just repeating that all the way down the rows here.
01:01
And then we'll say, OK,
01:04
we have some ballers
01:05
on the existing railing.
01:06
So we need to get rid of these,
01:09
but we cannot delete these. We need to change these to none
01:14
and repeat that on the post down here at the bottom too.
01:18
So we'll set those to none
01:20
so that there are no posts,
01:22
we say ok to that.
01:25
Now, we'll add a handrail to hand drow one.
01:28
So from the type options here, we'll select none.
01:31
Then choose the ellipses button that appears
01:34
and then we'll change from the pipe, drop down to pipe, warm out.
01:39
We'll not make any changes to this at this stage.
01:42
We may come back and make some changes later, but we'll say, ok.
01:46
And finally,
01:47
we don't want the top rail. So we'll uncheck the top rail
01:50
and we're just using now the pipe ball mounted,
01:53
we just need to position this so that it's on the right hand side.
01:58
So those are the changes we've made to our handrail.
02:00
So we'll say, ok,
02:02
and now we have our warm mount hand rail
02:05
chosen as a type of hand rail that we will sketch
02:08
and using the line tool that is already selected here.
02:11
We just come down and then we'll snap to the edge of the stairs, the edge of the treads
02:16
along the run of stairs here.
02:18
And then before we finish the creation of the railings,
02:21
we'll come up to the ribbon here and under the tools panel, we'll choose pick new host
02:26
and then we can select our stairs to make
02:27
sure that this rolling is hosted by our stairs.
02:32
Now choose finish edit mode
02:34
and our railing will be created.
02:36
Let's go to the crop stairs view.
02:38
So we can see our railing just spanning the length of our run along the wall here.
02:42
So we want to make a few changes.
02:44
We need to extend the handrail top and bottom and it would
02:47
be good to return the handrail back into the wall too.
02:51
So whilst we have it selected,
02:52
let's choose edit type from the properties pallet once more
02:56
and we'll go to the pipe wall mount handrail
02:60
and then choose the ellipses to open up the properties of this one.
03:05
And then here we can see we have extension length for both the beginning or bottom and
03:10
for the top as well. So
03:12
we'll set that to six inches, both top and bottom
03:19
and then the extension style, we'll change that to return to the wall
03:24
again, we'll do the same both on top and the bottom.
03:28
So we'll say, ok to this
03:30
and immediately in the background,
03:31
we can see the handrail is extended by six
03:34
inches and then returned back towards the wall.
03:37
So we can say ok to our handrail type properties here.
03:41
And then finally
03:42
just looking at the level two plan here,
03:45
we could see we need to just offset this by two inches.
03:50
So rather than change the path in the properties
03:52
from the handrail as we have it selected,
03:54
we have an offset from path
03:56
and we'll just set this to be two inches.
04:01
And we can see that this is now moved back against the wall.
04:05
So now let's go to our entrance lobby view.
04:07
We can see our completed stair with the hand rails as
04:09
we sketched them and the railings returning around the stairwell.
04:12
Now,
04:13
so now we need to add the railing across the edge of the floor here
04:17
and we'll do that in the level two floor plan view
04:22
zooming out. We can now see the edge of the floor.
04:26
So from the architecture tab under circulation under railing,
04:29
we'll choose sketch path
04:33
from the property's pallette.
04:34
We'll change it from the wall mount hand rail to the glass panel,
04:37
bottom fill railing type.
04:40
And before I sketch this in, I'm gonna set an offset value in the options bar
04:44
of six inches.
04:48
And now when I zoom in and I snap to the intersection of the wall and the floor slab here
04:53
as I start to draw, the sketch line is six inches offset from that edge.
04:59
And that gives me the position that I want for my roll in.
05:02
So let's go to the opposite end and snap to the wall
05:06
and then we can choose finish edit mode
05:08
for our railing to be created.
05:10
And from the entrance lobby view,
05:12
we can now see our railing across the edge of the floor here.

To create a handrail:
The handrail needs to be offset to touch the wall.
