We're now ready to sketch the profile of our roof.
00:08
So within the contextual ribbon within the draw panel,
00:11
we'll select the straight line tool
00:14
and we'll start drawing this line from this
00:17
construction line
00:19
to the center construction line
00:22
and to the right hand construction line.
00:25
And she was modified to stop sketching
00:28
the profile.
00:30
We can see at the top of the properties paddock type selector
00:33
that we're about to use basic roof generic 12 inch
00:37
and we will stick to that.
00:39
We now go up to the contextual ribbon
00:41
and finish this procedure by clicking on the green tick finish, edit mode.
00:47
We can see in this view, the roof needs extra work
00:51
and also within the 3D view
00:53
using the tab at the top of the graphics view,
00:56
we'll click on 3D
00:58
and we can see if I just roll the wheel to zoom out a little bit
01:01
and pan across using that wheel.
01:03
We can see that the roof does need extra work and it also remains selected
01:08
to make the roof start and finish at the main building and garage wall boundaries.
01:12
We're going to use the joint uno
01:15
roof tool
01:16
because the roof is already selected.
01:18
We are presented with a contextual ribbon
01:22
within the geometry panel, we need to select join uno
01:25
roof tool,
01:27
which is here.
01:28
So within the geometry panel, click on join and join roof,
01:33
we'll begin by joining the left hand edge of this roof to the garage.
01:39
So we click the left hand edge,
01:41
we then click on the wall associated to the garage
01:45
and it's now joined that roof to that wall.
01:49
We'll now join the right hand edge of that roof
01:52
to the left hand wall of the main building.
01:54
And before we do that, we use the shift gear on the keyboard, hold the wheel down
01:59
and orbit the 3D model so that we can clearly see
02:02
this wall here.
02:07
We'll also zoom out a little bit
02:09
so that we can see the right hand edge of that roof.
02:13
So we'll select the roof
02:15
back up onto the contextual webb and geometry panel.
02:18
We'll select join and join roof again.
02:22
Also at the right hand edge of this time of the roof
02:25
and select the left hand wall of the main building.
02:30
If you hover our cursor over the roof,
02:33
we can see that it's now been successfully trimmed
02:35
to both the garage and the main building walls.
02:39
Our final task is to attach the walls to the underside of our roof.
02:46
So we'll zoom in to those walls
02:49
and select both walls.
02:51
So if I click the wall at the top, I hold the control key down on the keyboard
02:56
and select
02:57
the wall at the bottom here,
03:00
our contextual ribbon now provides us with the tools to fix this problem.
03:06
So up on the modify wall panel,
03:09
we'll see that we have attached top base.
03:12
So if we click on attach top base,
03:14
all we now need to do is click anywhere on the roof
03:18
and those walls instantly clean up.
03:21
So in 3d view, we can see that it's been successful.
03:24
So if we click on the tab for section one,
03:27
we can see it's been successful in the water,
03:31
we'll click, modify to deselect everything
03:34
and that is his task complete.
