When working in Autodesk Point Layout, you can create a DXF file either during the export process or by using the Create DXF tool.
00:13
Note that you should save any changes to your project before creating a DXF, as it reduces file size and can be time-consuming.
00:22
With a project open, the first way to create a DXF file is to right-click in the model space and select Point Layout > Export Points.
00:33
Then, in the General Options group, select the Export DXF file option before exporting.
00:41
The second way to create a DXF file is to right-click in the model space, and select Point Layout > Tools > Create DXF.
00:53
The DxfWizard will take you through a series of steps, with valuable information at each one.
01:00
It is strongly recommended that you perform an audit for any potential errors.
01:07
You also have the option to detach any XREFs that you do not want shown,
01:11
and unlock layers so that they are available for future steps.
01:16
Click Next to advance through each step, or you can choose to Cancel or skip certain steps.
01:24
The last step saves the cleaned drawing to a DXF file.
01:29
Note that if you want your DXF rotated to a specific user coordinate system (UCS), you should set it at this time.
01:38
Otherwise, a world coordinate system (WCS) will be used.
