Use Autodesk Point Layout to create a shared User Coordinate System (UCS) made with two known points and their corresponding X, Y, Z values.

When working in Autodesk Point Layout, the Create New UCS tool makes it easy to create a new shared coordinate system in AutoCAD,

based on a State Plane Coordinate System (SPCS), or any other system being used in your project.

With a project open in AutoCAD, right-click anywhere in the model space and select Point Layout > Tools > Create New UCS.

In the Unit value dialog, select your preferred units.

Now, find the two points in your project where you know the XYZ values.

Select your first point.

In the First Point Coordinate dialog, enter the XYZ values.

In this example, they are being copied and pasted from an Excel sheet.

Note that the values must be separated by commas.

If the points are in northern easting or YXZ, flip the X and the Y values around.

Find and select the second point and repeat the process of assigning XYZ coordinates.

With both points assigned, you can name this new coordinate system.
