Learn to set up, program and validate toolpaths for a CNC lathe.
Module overview
Learn to create a setup for a CNC lathe. The CNC lathe setup will contain information about stock, coordinate system reference, and the location of the chuck holding the stock. With a setup in place, you’ll learn to create digital tools, rough and finish machine a part and validate the toolpaths through simulation. When toolpaths have been verified, you’ll learn how to generate a setup sheet and export code that can be read by a CNC lathe.
After completing this module, you’ll be able to:
- Create a CAM setup for lathe.
- Create a lathe tool library.
- Create lathe toolpaths.
- Simulate and document lathe programs.
