Now looking at the projecting walls at the rear of the building,
00:08
we can see that they align to the underside of the roof
00:11
as shown in the image here.
00:14
And ideally,
00:15
we would like to finish layers to continue up in
00:17
front of the roof to give us a cleaner junction.
00:21
We can achieve this by unlocking the top of the finish layers in the wall type
00:27
so that they can extend separately
00:29
to the rest of the war.
00:32
So in order to do this
00:33
with one of the walls selected,
00:35
we'll click edit type from the top of the properties
00:38
and then we need to access the assembly again.
00:41
So we'll choose edit next to the structure parameter.
00:45
And we can see we have the finish layers here
00:48
and our preview is still in section view. So
00:51
we'll choose zoom in region to zoom into the very top of the wall.
00:57
And it's these three layers here that we need to
00:60
extend up in front, separate to the main structure of the wall.
01:04
So from the modify vertical structure, we'll click, modify
01:09
and now we can click the top edge of those layers
01:13
at which point will be presented with a padlock which we
01:15
can then click to unlock the edge of those layers.
01:18
So
01:18
let's repeat this for the other two layers here,
01:21
clicking on the top edge and unlocking the padlock.
01:25
And that means that these will now be able to
01:27
extend separately to the main structure of the wall.
01:31
So now click, modify to disable it
01:34
and we'll click OK to save these changes and OK again, to apply these to the wall.
01:40
Now, as we zoom in, we can see we have two drag controls at the top of the wall here.
01:45
And if we drag the outer one,
01:47
just the finishes
01:48
are extended
01:50
and looking in the properties, we can see the unconnected height.
01:53
And below that,
01:54
we have a top extension distant parameter
01:58
for the layers that we've unlocked,
01:59
which is just those finishes in front of the wall.
02:02
So
02:03
let's select the roof
02:04
and we can see that this is the generic
02:09
we can see the thickness is 1 ft thick.
02:12
So now
02:13
we'll select the walls that we want to extend in front of the roof.
02:16
So using the control key, we can multiple, select those walls.
02:22
And then in the properties,
02:24
we can see the top extension distance currently varies
02:27
because of the different walls we have selected.
02:29
So
02:30
we'll set them all to be 1 ft.
02:33
And then once this is applied, we can see those finishes
02:36
aligning up to the top of the roof and gives
02:38
us that nice clean junction that we're looking for.
