We can also edit the shape of forms manually by changing their profile.
00:10
So looking over here by the stairs and the vehicle ramp,
00:13
we can see we have some walls that are sticking above the ramp itself.
00:17
And ideally, we want the wall to follow down the line of the ramp,
00:21
but we need it to be slightly offset above the ramp.
00:24
So therefore,
00:25
using the attach tool wouldn't achieve the result we're looking for
00:29
as that would attach it to the underside of the floor.
00:32
So to change the slope manually from the modify walls,
00:36
ribbon tab or choose edit profile,
00:40
this takes us to a sketch mode
00:42
and we can see the shape of the wall in elevation as a sketch in the view.
00:46
So all we need to do now is just sketch the line at
00:50
the top of the wall which is gonna follow down the ramp.
00:53
So to do this, I'll use the pick lines, sketching tool
00:57
and then from the options bar, I'll set an offset of 1 ft
01:02
and now we'll come over to the top of the ramp
01:05
and just picking on that, it will create a sketch line that is 1 ft above that ramp.
01:11
So now we just need to tidy up the sketch. So
01:14
using the trim extend to corner tool from the modify menu,
01:17
we'll click on the lines to create the corners that we need.
01:23
So now we have the new shape sketched in,
01:25
we'll click, finish edit mode.
01:27
And now we can see the original shape of the wall which is still defined.
01:30
But now when I do select this,
01:33
we can see that the wall itself is following down the ramp just 1 ft above it.
01:38
So I'll repeat this for the wall on the opposite side of the ramp.
01:41
And this time, rather than click edit profile from the ribbon tab,
01:45
double click on the wall as this will also take us into the edit profile tool.
01:51
So we'll repeat the process.
01:53
I'll choose pick lines from the sketching tools.
01:56
At this time, I'll leave the offset to zero.
01:58
And instead of picking the
02:00
line of the ramp itself,
02:02
I'll actually choose the top of the wall that we created opposite
02:06
and this line will then be projected into the profile of the wall that we're editing.
02:11
So now once again,
02:12
we'll use our trim extend corner tool to tidy up the sketch
02:15
and then click, finish edit mode.
02:17
And we have a similar result to the one on the opposite side of the ramp.
02:23
So lastly on the wall by the stairs,
02:25
we need to draw this in manually. So
02:28
really, we want this to follow down the slope of the stairs and then continue on at
02:32
around 3 ft from the floor.
02:34
So we'll select the wall
02:36
and then from the modifier walls, ribbon tab, we'll choose edit profile.
02:42
We'll start to draw a line. So if I come over to the vertical edge here
02:46
and then I can type in 3 ft on this
02:48
temporary dimension and then sketch the horizontal line in.
02:53
Then I'll use the pick lines tool once again
02:57
and we'll set the offset in the options bar to be 3 ft.
03:03
So then we'll click on the support by the side of the stairs
03:06
to create a line that's 3 ft offset from there.
03:11
Then finally, we'll use the trim extender corner to clean up the sketch.
03:19
So now that we have that sketch completed,
03:21
we'll click finish edit mode
03:23
and we can see that we have the changed profile of our wall.
