Now looking at the raised deck here,
00:06
we have a ramp coming down
00:08
and we need to add a similar fence coming down this slope.
00:11
If I select the ramp here,
00:13
looking at the properties palette, we can see it's actually created using a floor
00:17
and it's the wood deck in type of floor.
00:20
And it's been turned into a ramp using the shape editing tools.
00:24
So to add the fence along this ramp, we'll swap back to the site plan view
00:34
and now
00:35
we'll go back to the architecture ribbon tab and on the circulation panel,
00:38
we'll click the railing tool.
00:42
We can see we still have the fencing post and balls type selected.
00:46
So we'll use this one
00:49
and we have the line sketch tool enabled.
00:51
So we'll zoom in a little and just snap to the
00:53
edge where it intersects with the wall and then we'll click
00:56
to snap to the top of the slope
00:59
and then
00:60
again at the bottom of the slope,
01:04
and we've now got two sketch lines created.
01:06
So we know we'll have a post at the top of the ramp.
01:11
So whilst we're in the create railing mode,
01:13
we'll go up to the create railing path ribbon here.
01:16
And from the tools panel, we'll click pick new host
01:19
and then we'll click on the floor to host that roll in.
01:23
So now we have that done, we'll click finish edit mode
01:26
to create that rail in.
01:27
And we can see what we have to post there and we'll swap back to the site 3d view.
01:32
And again, we can see that fence now following down the slope as we want it to
01:37
and zoom in, we can see that we also have the post
01:40
at the top of the ramp. As we created that with two separate sketch lines.
01:45
We can also see that the post actually overhang the edge of the deck slightly.
01:50
And this is because they're set up from the center of the sketch line.
01:55
So looking at the properties palette here,
01:57
we have an offset from path parameter.
02:00
So we'll change this to be two inches.
02:03
And now once it's applied, we can see that
02:06
entire fence move over by two inches from the sketch line that we created.
02:11
It's now pan around to the front of the building.
02:14
We can see that we have a ramp
02:15
that's coming from the driveway up to the deck in here.
02:19
And we do need to add some guardrails around the edge of the ramp.
02:23
So we'll go up to the architecture ribbon tab
02:25
and from the circulation panel under the railing tool.
02:28
This time, we'll select the place on stair ramp tool
02:34
from the type selector
02:36
which use the guard rail, timber railing type.
02:39
And now we just need to click on the ramp
02:42
and that
02:43
will be placed from top to bottom on both sides of the ramp.
02:49
Next, we'll place a hedge along the edge of the driveway here.
02:53
So again, from the architecture ribbon tab
02:56
on the circulation panel, we'll click the
02:58
tool
03:02
looking at the type selector. We'll change this to be the 2 ft six hedge railing type.
03:08
And now from the create railing path through a menu here,
03:11
we'll change the sketch tool from line to pick lines
03:15
and we can now click on the edge of the floor slabs
03:18
that create the driveway for the sketch lines to follow their edges.
03:22
Once you have those created, we'll click finish edit mode.
03:25
I can see that hedge has now been created.
03:28
So whilst it's still selected, we'll go up to the modified Roland River menu
03:31
and we'll click on the pick new host tool.
03:34
And now we just need to select the actual topography itself.
03:37
And again,
03:38
we can see now that hedge following the line of the
03:40
topography up the slope and across the back of the driveway.
03:46
So next,
03:47
we need to place a guard rail around the edge of the roof on this building here.
03:52
And to do this from the project browser, we'll open up the roof floor plan view.
03:57
Now zooming into the building at the bottom of the screen,
03:60
this is where we will create the guard rail.
04:02
So from the architecture ribbon tab on the circulation panel,
04:05
we'll click on the rail in tool
04:09
from the type selector, we'll change the type to be the roof guard railing type.
04:15
Now, looking at the draw panel, we'll change the sketching tool to be a rectangle.
04:20
And now from the options bar, we'll change the offset to be six inches.
04:28
Now, if we zoom into the corner of the roof here and snap to the end point,
04:33
we can see that
04:34
the rectangle with sketching is, is offset six inches from that point.
04:38
However, it's offset to the outside. So
04:40
I'll press the space bar on the keyboard and that will flip the offset direction
04:45
and now we can pan down to the opposite corner
04:47
and snap to that.
04:48
And we can see now we have our rectangle inset by six inches from the edge of the roof.
04:54
So now we'll go up to the correct railing path ribbon
04:57
and from the tools panel, we'll click, pick new host
05:00
and then select the roof for the railing to be hosted by.
05:05
Now, we'll choose finish edit mode
05:07
to create that roll in
05:09
and we'll swap back to the site 3d view
05:12
and we can see now the railing falling around the edge of the roof,
05:15
but also following the slope,
05:18
it's now pan down to the end of the other building here.
05:21
We want to add some solar shade in to the end of the roof,
05:25
looking at the solar shading below.
05:27
If we select that, we can see that's a rail in and it's the type shade in.
05:31
So we'll add this to the roof above.
05:34
And whilst it's still selected,
05:35
we'll go to the modify ribbon menu
05:38
and from the create panel here, we'll choose create similar
05:42
and we can see now that that's taken us to the create railing tools
05:46
and looking at type selector, we have the shading railing type selected.
05:51
We change the base level from first floor to roof
05:55
and now from the create roiling path ribbon here on the draw panel,
05:59
we'll change the tool to be pick lines.
06:03
Now, we just need to select the edge of the roof.
06:06
And we can see we get a sketch line created along the edge of the roof.
06:10
So we'll click finish edit mode
06:12
and we can see that that's created up at the roof level,
06:16
however, it's facing in the wrong direction. So
06:18
zooming in here, we can see it's pointing into the building.
06:22
And if we orbit around a little, we can see that we have the flip controls here. So
06:27
we'll click on these to flip the orientation
06:30
and now we can see it's facing in the correct way.
06:32
So with it still selected, we'll go out to the modify rains
06:35
ribbon tab here
06:37
and we'll click the pick new host to.
06:40
So we'll select the roof and straight away, we can see that
06:43
solar shade and rolling, follow the line of the roof as we want it to.
06:47
And that now completes adding all of the railings to this project.
