Create a parts list, balloons, and text in Fusion drawings

Add a parts list, balloons, and text to a Fusion drawing.


In this activity, you will learn how to add a parts list, balloons and text into your drawing.

Prerequisites

  • Activity 3 is complete.

Steps

  1. Insert a Parts List.

    A Parts List is a table that itemizes the components in a design.

    1. In the Tables toolbar, click Parts List.
    2. Make sure the Type in the dialog is set to Parts List.
    3. Select the base view as a reference for the Parts List.
    4. Click the top right corner of the drawing boarder to place the Parts List there.
  2. Create Balloons on the Shaded View.

    The balloons display on the sheet and point to the components. The numbers in the balloons match the Item numbers for each component in the parts list.

    1. In the Tables toolbar, click Balloon.
    2. On the Shaded View, select an edge of a component.
    3. Click to place the balloon.
    4. Select an edge of the second component on the Shaded View.
    5. Click to place the balloon.
    6. Click Close to complete the Balloon command.
  3. Add text to the drawing.

    The Text command creates a text object to label parts of a drawing, provide specifications, or add annotations and notes.

    1. In the Text toolbar, click Text.

    2. Select two corners in the top left corner of the sheet to create a text box.

    3. Type the following text into the text box:

      NOTES:

      ALL MEASUREMENTS IN INCHES

    4. In the Text dialog, make sure the Height is set to 0.12 in and Numbering is selected.

    5. Click Close to complete the Text command.
