One easy way to do this is to copy the data from
00:12
Excel and then paste it into a drawing as a link.
00:17
For example, here is an Excel spreadsheet that contains a parts list,
00:23
select all of the cells and then copy them to the windows clipboard.
00:30
Switch back to your drawing
00:32
on the home ribbon
00:34
in the clipboard panel, expand the paste split button and choose paste special
00:41
to open the paste, special dialogue,
00:44
select paste link
00:47
to paste the contents of the clipboard as a link.
00:50
You then have the choice of pasting the link
00:53
as a Microsoft Excel worksheet or as Autocad entities.
00:58
Since you want to create a table, choose autocad entities
01:02
and then click OK.
01:05
The program prompts you to specify the insertion point.
01:09
When you select a point,
01:11
you see the data that was copied from Excel.
01:15
Since you pasted the data as a link,
01:18
the data in the table is linked to the Excel spreadsheet.
