Unlike importing sheets,
00:05
creating a new subset can only be done from the
00:08
top level sheet set or from an existing subset.
00:11
I want it at the top.
00:13
So I'll keep my mouse over the top level sheet set.
00:16
I'll right click and select new subset.
00:18
The subset properties box will be displayed.
00:21
Let's name this general,
00:23
a brief note here about the value of subsets.
00:25
They're more than just an organizational mechanism.
00:28
As you can see,
00:29
you can specify whether or not you want the
00:31
sheets within it to plot or not during a publish
00:34
I want to. So I'll leave that alone.
00:37
There's also an entry for a sheet creation template.
00:40
So a subset can also have its own template overriding the
00:43
one that may be set in the sheet set itself.
00:46
Let's add one here,
00:48
click on the field and then the little icon to the right.
00:51
Continue to navigate to the DWT file that's
00:54
in the civil drawings folder of your dataset.
00:56
Once it's selected and added click OK. To create the subset.
01:01
Notice that it's at the bottom of the list drag and
01:03
drop it to the top between 00 and the sheet set
01:07
now, I'll just select all four sheets that I want to place into it
01:10
and drag them onto the subset.
01:13
Since I added the template to the subset I can now create a new sheet for my subset.
01:18
Right? Click on the subset
01:19
and select new sheet.
01:21
The new sheet dialogue will display
01:23
it's very similar to the top half of the rename and renumber dialogue.
01:27
Let's make our sheet number 04 and then type in drawing index for the title.
01:32
You'll notice that the sheet set manager again tries to help you
01:35
out by prefixing the number in front of the file name.
01:38
If you don't want this back it out as I'm doing here
01:41
again, everyone's standards are different.
01:44
I'll click OK to exit.
01:46
And now I have created a new drawing file with a layout titled drawing index.
