To analyze how materials flow through a factory, you need to set up a station.

In this example, you open a Material Flow drawing and use Factory Design to create and set the properties for two stations.

To begin, open AutoCAD, and in the Start tab, click Open.

Navigate to and open an existing DWG file.

To follow along with this tutorial, navigate to the Tutorial 4 folder and open Material Flow Analysis_Start.dwg.

If the Material Flow palette is not already open, on the Factory ribbon, Tools panel, expand the Palettes drop-down and select Material Flow.

Expand Palettes again, and this time, select Factory Properties.

Now, set up a station.

On the Factory ribbon, Material Flow panel, select Station.

On the layout, select the area on the left, upper portion of the AutoCAD geometry to create a station.

On the layout, click to place a connector at the center of the new station.

Next, set the properties of the station.

In the Material Flow Browser palette, click the Station 1 node.

Change the name of the station to “Planning Station”, then press ENTER.

In the Factory Properties palette, Material Flow Object tab, change the Uptime Percentage to 95 and the Energy Consumption to 5.
