Learn Revit in 90 minutes
Course overview
Jump right into Autodesk Revit and unlock the essential skills used by building design professionals! In just 90 minutes, you’ll model a simple house from scratch—starting with walls, floors, roofs, equipment, and furnishings. Discover how to create and refine your designs using plans, elevations, sections, and 3D views, all while following industry best practices. Wrap up your project by assembling views on sheets with title blocks and sharing your documentation with your team.
You’ll learn to build a simple house for hands-on practice using the accompanying dataset files (available in imperial and metric units).
The step-by-step video instruction totals approximately 90 minutes. To push yourself further, practice exercises, a course challenge, and a final test give you opportunities to apply what you've learned. These activities take additional time to complete and are not included in the 90-minute estimate.
After completing this course, you’ll be able to:
- Create new project files based on standard Revit template files.
- Navigate the Revit interface and use viewing tools.
- Create building geometry such as walls, floors, and roofs.
- Add components to a design, including appliances, equipment, and furnishings.
- Study and edit your design in standard view types like plans, elevations, sections, and 3D views.
- Access the information in your model by using schedules.
- Add dimensions, annotations, and symbols to document your design.
- Create sheets containing your project’s views and schedules.
- Output a set of documents to a PDF.
