Course 3 - Haas and Autodesk Fusion - Drafting, Soft Jaw Design, and Programming
Course overview
In this course, you learn the basics of blueprint creation in Fusion, importing a vise and soft jaw blanks, creating soft jaws for Operation 2, program toolpaths and documentation for the soft jaws, and setup and machine the soft jaws to prepare for OP2.
After completing this course, you’ll be able to:
- Create a basic detailed drawing.
- Import workholding.
- Create soft jaw models.
- Set up and program toolpaths for soft jaws.
- Set up and machine soft jaws on a CNC mill.

Machining best practices supports you in the CNC machining of the model engine rod soft jaw. Â Review the process plan and cutting data for general guidelines to support you in this project. The sample setup sheet provides information about how the part was machined. Â Post machining, inspect your part while reviewing the supplied detailed drawing, and populate the inspection report to verify acceptable part tolerances. The machining best practices includes a process plan, cutting data, setup sheet, and inspection reports.
