In Revit, the first step of using MEP fabrication content is specifying a fabrication configuration.
00:11
Fabrication parts are created as .itm files.
00:15
Each contains a single piece of content to represent the geometrical dimensions
00:19
and associated data of a product from a manufacturer.
00:23
A fabrication configuration is specified by loading the necessary services and parts.
00:29
To begin this exercise, on the Systems ribbon, Fabrication panel, launch the Fabrication Settings dialog.
00:37
Now, expand the Fabrication configurations drop-down to choose the configuration you want.
00:43
Then, expand the Fabrication profiles drop-down and choose a profile.
00:47
To load services, on the Services tab, select the service you want to use, and then click Add.
00:54
You can also double-click a service to add it to your list of Loaded services.
00:59
If you want to select multiple services at once, press CTRL or SHIFT and make your selections.
01:06
Note that, on the Parts tab, you can add additional parts without adding the entire service.
01:11
To do this, expand a folder and navigate to the part you want to load, select it, and then click Add.
01:19
Click OK to close the Fabrication configuration dialog once you have loaded the services and parts you need.
01:26
Now, to use the loaded services, on the ribbon, in the Fabrication panel, click Fabrications Part.
01:33
This opens the MEP Fabrication Parts palette.
01:37
Here, you can select the Service you need and then the Palette.
01:40
If you want to make changes to the settings, in the MEP Fabrications Parts palette, click Settings.
01:47
Keep in mind that to add or remove parts and services, you must click Reload Configuration.
01:53
If you want to select a different configuration, you always have to remove all of the Loaded services first.
01:59
Finally, once you are finished making changes to your fabrication settings, click OK to close the dialog.
