The Alert tab of the Protector module can be used to quickly visualize and report the extent of an event, and to sort all affected customers—in order of increasing distance from the event location—for priority notification.
In this example, create a custom alert to notify specified customers of a water quality issue.
- Double-click the desired project .aprx file to open ArcGIS Pro.
- Click the InfoWater Pro tab to open the InfoWater Pro ribbon.
- In the Project panel, click Initialize.
Start by running a simulation for the current scenario:
- On the InfoWater Pro ribbon, in the Analysis panel, click Run to open the Run Manager.
- Click Run to run the simulation and create an output for the current scenario.
- Close the Run Manager.
To access the Protector:
- On the ribbon, in the Project panel, click Apps.
- From the Apps Manager, select Protector.
- Click Run.
- In the Protector app, switch to the Alert tab.
- Click Options.
- From the Notification Layer drop-down, select the propuse layer.
In this example, the propuse layer contains all customer details.
- Close the Protector Options dialog box.
There are different ways to create an Alert Zone. In this example, draw a user-defined polygon of the Alert Zone:
- Click Create Polygon Alert Zone.
- In the network map, click to create points, forming a polygon over the right half of the map.
- Double-click on the last point of the polygon to close it.
- Back on the Alert tab, click Notify.
Inside the Alert Zone polygon, all parcels appear highlighted in a cyan color, and the Notification tab opens with a list of affected customers.
- Click Close to exit the Protector.
