Modifying views in a sheet

Modify project views from within a sheet, including changing the view scale of a view and adding dimensions to a view.

By modifying a view on a sheet, you are able to make changes to the view in the context of the sheet

To modify a view on a sheet, first open a sheet in your project.

The view will need to be activated before we can make modifications to the view.

You can activate a view by double-clicking inside the viewport

or by selecting a view and clicking Activate View in the Viewport panel of the Modify tab.

Let's say we want to reorganize the sheet to make room for another view.

In this case, we'll adjust the view scale from 1:100 to 1:200.

Double-click to activate the view.

In the view control bar, select the View Scale tool and change the scale from 1:200.

The view scale has now been reduced and we now have room to add a new view to the sheet.

We can make other the changes to the view.

Anything you can do with the view open can be done with the active view on the sheet.

Here we will add aligned dimensions to the view.

Click the Annotate tab and select the Linear Annotation tool from the dimension panel.

Click the beginning and end points on the view to set the dimensions.

When you have finished, double-click away from the viewport to exit the view activation.
