In Fusion drawings, a center line indicates the center between two lines or edges,
00:09
and a center mark shows the center of a rounded edge or object.
00:14
Using center lines and center marks to indicate the center of a hole or series of holes
00:20
can help to ensure accurate placement of features within your design.
00:25
Start with a drawing open in the Drawing workspace.
00:29
On the Navigation bar, click Zoom Window, then click and drag your pointer to zoom into the view that you wish to annotate.
00:38
To create a center line, from the toolbar, Geometry group, click Center Line.
00:48
Next, on your drawing, select two parallel lines that represent the hole for which you want to create the center line.
00:56
To finish the command, right-click and select OK, or press Escape.
01:04
To account for another hole on the other side of this part, you can simply extend this line.
01:11
Select the center line, then drag the arrow in the desired direction to extend it fully through the part.
01:20
To create a center mark, from the Geometry group, click Center Mark.
01:26
Then, on your drawing, select the circular reference to place the mark.
01:31
Note that when the selected objects are full circles, such as cylinders or holes, the center marks will also have extension lines.
01:41
You can also create center marks and center lines using the view options.
01:46
Click Fit to zoom out, and then zoom into the base view.
01:53
In this case, the Center Mark tool is still active, so right-click and select OK.
01:60
Now, double-click the base view to open the Drawing View dialog.
02:06
In the Automated Center Marks and Center Lines group,
02:10
for Center Marks, select Holes, Round Extrudes, and Round Cuts to activate the creation of center marks for those hole types.
02:21
Repeat this process for Center Lines, and then click Close.
02:27
Now, center marks will be added for any of these features that are perpendicular to this view.
02:33
However, note that it does not place center lines or marks on shaded views or on hidden lines that make up the cuts through the part.
02:43
You can also create center marks on a pattern.
02:47
From the Geometry group, click Center Mark Pattern, then select a hole or rounded edge to form the pattern.
02:55
With Auto-complete selected, as it is here, all or most of the related geometry is selected for you.
03:03
In this case, after one more hole is selected, the result is a rounded center mark pattern.
03:09
Right-click and select OK.
