In a Revit project, you can use the Duct tools to draw ductwork horizontally

or vertically to connect air terminals and mechanical equipment.

You also add duct fittings and accessories to your new ductwork.

First, to place a duct for this exercise, on the Systems ribbon, in the HVAC panel, click Duct.

In the Type Selector, select the Mitered Elbows/Tees family type.

In the Options Bar, specify the Width and Height.

Then, in the Options Bar or in the Properties palette, enter the Middle Elevation.

In the Properties palette, you can see that the Top Elevation and Bottom Elevation are automatically calculated.

Another way you can activate the Duct tool is to select a component with a duct connector.

Then, all you have to do is click the connector label.

This automatically activates the Duct tool with the size and elevation matching your connector.

For this example, you create a horizontal duct extending from the fan coil unit in Lobby 1001 plan south.

Click once, and then turn to plan east.

Keep in mind that another duct segment starts at the point where you clicked.

Reduce the size of the duct to 24" x 8".

Then, create another vertical segment and horizontal segment.
