About the Import Manager and Export Manager
Describe how the Import Manager and Export Manager are used for GIS integration.
InfoWater Pro contains powerful tools for GIS integration.
The Import Manager and Export Manager provide simplified processes for exchanging model and GIS data.
Three data formats are available:
- Delimited Text (comma, tab, etc.)
- ESRI Shapefile
- MapInfo MIF / MID
Data is exchanged by element type, such as junction, tank, reservoir, pump, valve, or pipe.
Use Import Manager to create new records and update existing records at the same time.
Once source file is identified, can begin mapping data (Source Data Fields) that correspond with appropriate model fields (Import Data Field Mapping).
First, select ID field, then map remaining available source fields to corresponding model fields.
The Export Manager works similarly, in reverse.
Note that mappings created in Import Manager and Export Manager cannot be saved for reuse or minor modification.
Must create mappings each time, for each type of element being imported or exported.
