Getting started with the administration in Upchain

In this lesson, we’ll introduce some Upchain core concepts, demonstrate how to log in, how to access the Administration interface, and where to access Upchain resources for further information.

Before you start:

You must be invited to Upchain and be assigned a Tenant Administrator role.

Upchain fundamentals

In this video, we will:

Key takeaways

  1. Upchain is a cloud-based product lifecycle management (PLM) system that manages data within the projects.
  2. Projects can contain one or more of the following: bills of materials that are composed of items, Gantt charts, business processes, supporting documentation, and teams.
  3. An item is the object that manages all design and supporting data for one object in a bill of materials.
  4. As a Tenant Administrator, you will manage all settings that determine the behavior of your tenant as well as the list of users who have access to your tenant.

Logging in and exploring the Administration interface

  • Open the Administration interface and briefly describe each section
  • Locate the Upchain help resources
