Slice models for 3D printing

To begin the rapid prototyping process, you’ll choose a slicer that is compatible with your 3D printer or select your 3D printer from the machine library in Fusion.

After completing this section, you’ll be able to:

  • Choose an efficient orientation for models on a build plate.
  • Select a support structure and build plate adhesion strategy.
  • Slice models into layers for 3D printing using the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) / Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process. These are essentially two different terms for 3D printing.
  • Create G-Code for a 3D printer.
