00:03
When creating a process flow in FlexSim,
00:06
the Decide activity sends a token to one of two or more possible activities based on conditions that you define.
00:13
From the Decide activity Quick Properties,
00:15
you can define these conditions using many different methods, such as diverting tokens to specific activities by case, or by percentage.
00:24
In this model, a process flow is already set up to create tokens
00:28
and to then use a Decide to determine which of the three processes the tokens is sent to next.
00:35
Click the Decide—here, named Send to Process—to see how this activity is set up in Quick Properties.
00:43
Below the name, the Send Token To drop-down determines the logic used by the Decide.
00:48
Here it is set to Activity By Case.
00:52
Click Edit Properties, where the Case Function is set to token.Type.
00:57
This means that the variable used to determine the next activity is the token type.
01:03
In this example, each type is sent to the corresponding process number.
01:08
You can use Decide activities at multiple points in your process flow.
01:12
In this example, a second Decide is used in Process 3.
01:17
Click Extra Processing to open the Quick Properties, where Send Token To is set to By Percentage.
01:24
Then, click Edit Properties.
01:28
According to these settings, 40 percent of tokens will be sent to Connector 1, or directly to the Rack,
01:34
while 60 percent will be sent to Connector 2 to move on to Queue6 for additional processing.
01:40
The tokens will then change shape before moving to the Rack.
01:45
Now you can use a Decide activity in your process flow to divert tokens to specific activities, by case or by percentage.
