In Revit, the precast tools provide an easy way to create 3D structural models from which shop drawings and CAM files are created.

Once a wall or slab has been split into precast assemblies,

you can add reinforcement for either element by using commands in the Reinforcement panel.

From the File ribbon, click Open > Project.

Navigate to the desired RVT file and then open it.

To add area and edge reinforcement to a previously split wall assembly, first select it in the drawing.

Optionally, you can choose to isolate only the selected assembly.

From the View Control Bar, click Temporary Hide/Isolate > Isolate Element.

Then, from the Precast ribbon, Reinforcement panel, click Reinforcement.

Select the walls to add reinforcement to, and in the options bar, click Finish.

The Wall Properties dialog opens.

Specify the Area Reinforcement Type and Edge Reinforcement Type in the respective drop-downs.
