Once you have placed view ports on a layout,
00:06
you can clip the layout, viewport objects and reshape the viewport border.
00:12
As you look at the furniture plan layout.
00:15
Suppose you decide that you do not want the
00:17
door included in the viewport in the upper left,
00:21
you can easily clip that viewport to eliminate the door
00:26
on the layout ribbon
00:28
in the layout. Viewport panel, click the clip tool.
00:32
The program prompts you to select the viewport to clip,
00:36
select the viewport border.
00:40
Now the prompt says select clipping object or polygonal
00:45
press enter to select the polygonal option.
00:49
The program prompts you to specify
00:52
a start point.
00:53
You are going to create a closed boundary around the
00:56
portion of the view geometry that you want to keep
01:01
toggle on object snap and select the upper left corner of the existing viewport.
01:08
Then move the cursor to the right and select a point on
01:11
the border just to the left of the left door jam,
01:15
then track straight down
01:17
and select a point on the lower border of the viewport.
01:22
Then select the lower left corner of the viewport
01:26
finally,
01:27
right click and choose close to create a closed boundary and end the command,
01:33
the Viewport border changes. And the viewport now includes only the desk and chair.
01:40
Of course,
01:40
this example is somewhat trivial since you
01:43
can always select the Viewport border and then
01:46
use the grip on the right border to stretch the viewport to the right,
01:51
thus enlarging the viewport so that it once again includes the door.
