In this tutorial, you create detailed drawings for a collar flange assembly.

With the Collar-Flange-Assembly.iam file open in Inventor, select the Flanged-Collar model.

Right-click to open the Marking menu and select Open.

This opens the Flanged-Collar individual detail file.

You can set the template for working with this file.

From the quick access toolbar, click Open.

Navigate to the Templates > Metric folder and select ANSI (mm).dwg.

To change the sheet size, in the browser, right-click Sheet and select Edit Sheet.

In the Edit Sheet dialog, from the Size drop-down, select C.

To start placing drawings, right-click within the sheet, and from the Marking menu, select Base View.

In the Drawing View dialog, the Flanged-Collar file is already selected, and you can make edits to the view.

Set the Scale to 2:1 and set the Style to Hidden Line.

Drag the view where you want on the sheet, and use the ViewCube arrows to orientate the view.

Move your mouse from this base view and click to place two additional projected views above and to the right.

In the Drawing View dialog, click OK to create the drawing views.

To show the interior detail of this design, you can create a section view.

On the ribbon, Place Views tab, Create panel, click Section.

On the base view, click the top edge line and locate the center of the line, as indicated by the green dot.

Create a section line by dragging the cursor up and clicking to select, then drag the line down to below the view and click to select again.
