Create and apply view filters for electrical and lighting layouts.

Create and apply view filters for electrical and lighting layouts.
- Open the project E06_02.rvt.
- Ensure the current view is Lighting > Floor Plans > 1 – Lighting.
- On the View tab, select Visibility/ Graphics.
- In the Visibility Graphics Overrides for Floor Plan: 1 - Lighting dialog box, select the Filters tab, and click Edit/New.
- In the Filters dialog box, create a new filter by clicking the New button.
- In the Filter Name popup, name the new filter “Phase A”. Click OK.
- From the list of categories, select Lighting Fixtures.
- Set the Filter Rules to Circuit Number.
- Set contains to A.
Two similar filters for Phase B and C have already been created.
- Click OK.
- Click Add in the Visibility Graphics Override window.
- Select the Phase A, Phase B, and Phase C filters.
- Click OK.
- For each filter, set an override for the pattern. Set the Pattern to Solid Fill and the colors to yellow, green and cyan as shown.
- Click OK.
Note that the color applied to the filters is not shown in the view.
- Highlight and select any of the lighting circuits, using the TAB key and the mouse button.
Note the phase allocation in the circuit properties.
- Open the view Power > Floor Plans > 1- Power, and then select panel board LP-1.
- In properties, under Electrical – Circuiting, change the value for Circuit Naming to By Phase.
- From the Analyze tab, click Panel Schedules and create a panel schedule for panel board LP-1.
- The circuits now contain the phase letter, which is the criteria for the view filters.
- Open the view 1 – Lighting. The view filters have now been applied, and phase allocation is clearly seen.
- Open the panel schedule for panel board LP-1.
- Click Move Down to move circuit B1 to A3.
- Open the view 1 – Lighting. The view filters have now been updated to show that all lighting circuits are connected to the same phase.
- Open the view 1- Power, and then select panel board LP-1.
- In the properties, under Electrical – Circuiting, change the value for Circuit Naming to Standard.
- In the panel schedule, circuit numbering is now displayed correctly.
- Save the project.
