With AutoCAD Architecture, you can create elevations of the building models in your drawings.
00:09
To begin, with a building model open, create an elevation line.
00:13
An elevation line defines the extents of the elevation view of your building model.
00:19
To do this, on the ribbon, Home tab, Section and Elevation panel, select Elevation Line.
00:25
Then, in the drawing area, pick two points to draw an elevation line below the building model.
00:33
Right-click, and from the shortcut menu, select Enter.
00:39
A loading dialog displays, and then the elevation is generated.
00:43
The newly created elevation view overlaps the existing model.
00:47
Select the elevation and drag it to make both views visible.
00:51
You can also customize the elevations.
00:54
Select the elevation line, and from the ribbon, click Generate Elevation.
00:59
Then, right-click in the drawing area and select Dialog.
01:04
This opens the Generate Section/Elevation dialog.
01:09
Here, you can choose to set the Result Type to 3D Section/Elevation,
01:14
which would create a three-dimensional elevation view.
01:17
If you have styles customized in the Style Manager,
01:20
you can access them from the Styles to Generate drop-down.
01:24
You can also adjust the placement of the elevation line.
01:27
For now, click Cancel, and then press ESC to end the command.
01:32
Next, create a window selection box around the elevation line and the elevation view.
01:38
Press DELETE.
01:41
To create an elevation using the Tool Palettes,
01:45
from the Callouts tab, Document section, click Exterior Elevation Mark A1.
01:50
The program prompts you to pick a point to insert an elevation.
01:55
Pick a point, and then pick another point to specify the direction of the elevation,
02:01
such as below the first point.
02:04
The Place Callout dialog opens.
02:07
Here, you can specify the name of the callout and where to create the callout.
02:13
You can also choose to generate a section/elevation and a titlemark.
02:17
In the Create in section, click Current drawing.
02:21
In the drawing area, specify the first corner of the elevation region.
02:26
Create a window selection around the model.
02:30
An elevation line appears.
02:33
Next, pick a point to specify the insertion point of the elevation view.
02:39
Again, a generating elevation loading dialog appears, and then the elevation view displays.
02:46
This time, the elevation view is located where you specified.
02:51
Zoom into the elevation to review the titlemark that is included in this method of elevation creation.
02:57
Elevate your drawings with the different ways of creating elevation views in AutoCAD Architecture.
