Export and share annotated 3D models

Any referenced datasets can be downloaded from "Module downloads" in the module overview.

Share annotated files - Exercise

  1. Open the Gear-Housing-Share-Model.ipt part file from your working folder. 
  2. Activate the Annotate tab from the Inventor ribbon. 
  3. From the Annotate tab>Export panel – select 3D PDF.

  4. Clear the checkbox next to Summary Information. 
  5. Use the drop-down menu to change the Visualization Quality to High. 
  6. Check the box next to Generate and attach STEP file.

  7. Click the Options button. 
  8. Make sure the radio button next to 242 – Managed Model Based 3D Engineering is filled.

  9. Click OK. 
  10. Click Publish. 
  11. Once the PDF has been created, open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader. 
  12. Left-click and drag in the main window to orbit the model. 
  13. Click on the Front view in the PDF file to orient the model. 
  14. Save and Close the PDF. 
  15. Save and Close the model.
