Components and top-down assemblies

Module overview

Now you’ll create the top of the tumbler cup. You’ll learn how to create a new component and use previous geometry to assist in solid modeling. You’ll also learn about tolerances and its importance in machining processes. 

After completing this module, you’ll be able to:

• Start a new component in a top-down assembly.
• Use existing geometry to create new components.
• Consider tolerance when designing for different manufacturing processes.
• Add threads to a component.
• Toggle between components.
• Apply the correct joints to model motion.
• Evaluate the difference between many types of joints.
