Components and top-down assemblies
Module overview
Now you’ll create the top of the tumbler cup. You’ll learn how to create a new component and use previous geometry to assist in solid modeling. You’ll also learn about tolerances and its importance in machining processes.
After completing this module, you’ll be able to:
- Start a new component in a top-down assembly.
- Use existing geometry to create new components.
- Consider tolerance when designing for different manufacturing processes.
- Add threads to a component.
- Toggle between components.
- Apply the correct joints to model motion.
- Evaluate the difference between many types of joints.
