Introduction to Inventor and Revit interoperability

Course overview

This course teaches you the latest workflows for utilizing Inventor design content inside of Revit. The specialized workflows that were first introduced in Inventor version 2022 enable Inventor model simplification as part of the .rvt export process – allowing you to export complex assembly designs at the level of detail that is required for your BIM Project. The course will also demonstrate how we can reference a Revit Project File into Inventor so that we can design in the context of the BIM project.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Import a Revit model into Inventor
  • Simplify the Inventor model using the Simplify command
  • Export a .rvt file from Inventor
  • Update the Revit model and automatically push the update to Inventor
