Create interior walls

Interior walls define the functional layout of a building, creating rooms and circulation spaces within the structural shell. In Revit, the Wall tool allows for quick placement of interior partitions with precise control over their height and alignment through base and top constraints. This lesson walks you through placing interior walls on the ground floor, using best practices for orientation, snapping, and constraint settings. You'll also learn how to assign different wall types, such as fire-rated partitions, to meet project specifications and building codes.

After completing this video, you'll be able to:

  • Create interior walls using the Wall tool.
  • Apply base and top constraints to interior walls to control their height and ensure accurate alignment to project levels.
