Guided Exercise - Constraints
How to Hide Geometry:
Two Methods
- Right click desired entity in Canvas and select Show/Hide.
- Use the eye next to the body or category to toggle visibility.
Hide Existing Geometry
We previously hid the Obstacle geometry.
- Right click on the existing arm geometry and select Show/Hide.
- Preserve Geometry should be the only thing visible at this point.
Moving through the ribbon the first icon within Design Conditions is Structural Constraints - Allows for assignment of Fixed, Frictionless, and Pinned constraints.
Our Exercise here will only use Fixed Constraints through all of our load cases.
1. Select Structural Constraints icon from the ribbon.
Assign Fixed Constraint:
2. Select Fixed Constraint from the Type menu.
3. Select the two (2) inner diameter faces of the thin cylinders on the -Z side of the geometry.
4. Click OK.
