Basic Workflow

  1. In CAD, model appropriate Preserve and Obstacle Regions
  2. Start Project in Generative Design
  3. Import Geometry
  4. Setup Study - Geometry, Constraints, Loads, etc
  5. Generate Outcomes
  6. Explore Outcomes
  7. Export desired outcomes for use

Let's take a quick look at the basic workflow we'll be covering in more details as we move forward.
In CAD, there are some geometry preparations that will need to be done prior to starting Generative Design.

  • Setting up all of our assumptions about Constraints, loads, desired materials to investigate.
  • Generating and Exploring the Outcomes to see how they evolve and how they match up to some of our desired criteria.
  • If any are desired for use, exporting them to take to CAD or manufacturing.
