Fusion CORE: Engineer
Course overview
If you’re new to engineering design with CAD, this course helps you get started with foundational engineering workflows in Fusion. You’ll create and develop a detailed rim assembly for a Formula SAE vehicle using parametric features and patterns to define key geometry, inserted hardware to build the assembly, and physical materials to evaluate mass properties. You’ll then set up and review a simulation study to evaluate performance and create basic detailed drawings to communicate technical information.
Through guided workflows, practice, and challenges, you’ll build the skills needed to independently develop, evaluate, validate, and document your own rim.

After completing this course, you'll be able to:
- Describe engineering decision making
- Create a parametric design of a rim
- Apply features and patterns to detail a design
- Build an assembly with inserted hardware
- Apply physical materials and measure mass properties
- Solve and review a simulation study
- Create detailed drawings
