Welcome to the FeatureCAM Standard milling course.
00:11
Whether you're new to FeatureCAM or even new to CAM in general, this course is designed to turn our new users into confident CNC programmers by focusing on the basic workflow of FeatureCAM.
00:25
With a firm grasp on the fundamentals, you'll be able to easily apply what you learned in this class to any of your own projects.
00:32
Whether you're working from a drawing on a napkin in your own garage or complex solid model in a production facility, this course will give you the fundamental base that you need to start learning and programming in FeatureCAM.
00:46
As I mentioned, this course will have a main focus on the workflow used to program parts in FeatureCAM.
00:52
This workflow will help you keep organized and not forget anything, as you take what you learn from this class into the real world with your own projects.
01:02
The workflow is as follows: With every project, we’ll start by opening a new file or importing a solid model.
01:10
Next, we'll define the piece of material that we’ll be machining our project from or the stock.
01:17
With our stock defined, we'll move on to any real world machining preparation.
01:22
And then finally, we'll create our features.
01:25
With our features created, we can simulate the machining of our part, make any revisions necessary.
01:31
And finally post NC Code.
01:35
Each lesson in this course will consist of a series of videos and written out text guides to help you program each project.
01:43
Feel free to either follow along with the videos or the text or even both while you're working through this class.
01:50
At the end of this course, you should feel confident with the fundamentals of FeatureCAM and the basic workflow and be ready to tackle your own projects.
01:58
With that, let's jump into our first project and start programming.
