Exploring Documents in the Web Application
In this lesson, we’ll explore the Documents section of a project to see the document categories that have been created and provide an overview of the user interface.Â
This will help you become familiar with the primary area within a project where documents are viewed and managed.
Before you start:
You must be invited to Upchain and have at least a Participant license to perform the tasks demonstrated in this lesson. You will also need to be added to a project team to be able to manage documentation within that project.
Exploring project documents
In this video, we will:
- Explore the Documents section of a project to understand its layout
- Locate a document’s action menu and open a document’s detail view
- Explain how a document library can be managed within a project or a project template
Key takeaways
- The Documents section of a project shows all document categories as configured by your Tenant Administrator.
- Clicking on a document opens a details pane with information about the document.
- Documents intended for reuse can be stored in a project template to be cloned to new projects, or stored within a project dedicated as the document library.
Uploading and exploring a project document
In this video, we will:
- Upload a document to a project
- View its details pane in more depth
- Explain how a document’s number is changed when cloned to another project
Key takeaways
- Uploading a document to a specific category assigns a number to the document based on the document numbering rule configured for that category.
- Documents do not retain their number when cloned from one project to another.
