This course explores the connection between digital literacy, data, and manufacturing with real-world examples and use cases. By understanding Industry 4.0 technologies and data measurements, you’ll be better prepared for the manufacturing jobs of the future.
After completing this module, you’ll be able to:
- Understand the manufacturing process and how we got to the digital era.
- Define digital literacy and how it ties with digital manufacturing.
- Describe how manufacturing is slowly transitioning to smart manufacturing and the top technologies driving this change.
- Understand the role of big data and how it’s used in manufacturing.
- Explain the difference between simulation and digital twins—and how they’re used to optimize the manufacturing process.
- Understand how cloud computing is used to store and process data and its advantages.
- Describe the creation and evolution of digital platforms.
- Explain the role of digital literacy and data skills in real time collaboration.
ASME and Autodesk have partnered to develop this course to promote Industry 4.0 skills in design and manufacturing. This is the fourth course in a series of self-paced courses to equip students with the knowledge and abilities needed to thrive in the industry 4.0 era of the manufacturing industry.
