Configuring rebar bends

Configure rebar bends - Exercise

  1. Open Revit then the file STRUCTURAL.RVT (or open any Revit project you are working in).
  2. In the Project Browser, scroll down until you get to the Families category.
  3. Make sure all the categories are collapsed, as shown below.
  4. Scroll down until you see Structural Rebar.

  5. Drill into Structural Rebar.
  6. Drill into Rebar Hook.
  7. Double click onto Standard - 90 deg., as shown below, then click Duplicate….

  8. Call it Standard – 45 deg.
  9. Change the Hook Angle to 45 degrees.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Double click on Stirrup/Tie - 90 deg.
  13. Click Duplicate.
  14. Change the name to Stirrup/Tie - 45 deg.
  15. Change the Hook Angle to 45 degrees.
  16. Click OK.
  17. Go back to Section 13.
  18. Select the footing.
  19. Click the Rebar button.
  20. Click Sketch Rebar.
  21. Draw a shape like the one shown below.

  22. In the properties, change the Hook at Start to Standard - 90 deg.
  23. Change the Hook at End to Standard - 45 deg.
  24. Click Finish Sketch.
  25. Your footing should look like the one illustrated below.
