Splitting a precast panel

Any referenced datasets can be downloaded from "Module downloads" in the module overview.

Split a precast panel - Exercise

Revit has the capability to create precast elements.

  1. Open Revit then the file MEDICAL CENTER PARKING GARAGE.RVT (or open any Revit project you are working in).
  2. Go to a 3D view.
  3. On the Structure tab, go to the Opening panel.
  4. Click the Wall Opening button.

  5. Select the wall shown below.
  6. Create a rectangular opening similar to the opening below.

  7. Hold the Ctrl key and select all 4 walls.
  8. On the Precast tab, click the Split button.

  9. Click OK to load the families.

  10. Let the families load.

  11. Your walls are now precast panels.
