Creating a rebar partition schedule

00:01

Okay, this is getting easy.

00:02

So, suppose you want to just basically group and categorize rebar into an area.

00:06

For example, we want to designate all of our rebar and peer one.

00:10

But since there are really two peers from P1, we want the group at the P1-A and P1-B.

00:15

Let's do that.

00:18

Let's open the model we've been working in. Let's go to our peer one plan detail.

00:25

Now what I'd like to do is I'm going to pick a window around all of our rebar in this peer.

00:33

In the properties in the partition row, click into here, type P1-A, all caps.

00:41

Hit "Enter".

00:42

Click "Apply".

00:46

Now I'm going to pick a window around this peer here.

00:50

I'm going to call this P1-B.

00:52

P1-B.

00:57

Click "Apply".

01:01

OK, now we don't need to make a brand new schedule from scratch.

01:04

We've got one that's pretty close to what we want.

01:07

So, let's drill into schedules quantities.

01:12

Let's right click on "Rebar length schedule".

01:17

Let's duplicate this view and this will go "Duplicate".

01:24

Now I want to rename it. We're going to call a partition schedule.

01:29

So, if you just select it, you can either rename it here or rename it here.

01:34

So, if we just click in here, swipe over everything, hit "Control" "V", hit "tab".

01:41

Pretty cool, huh, the you renames it.

01:45

So, now in our schedule for the fields, let's click "Edit".

01:53

Let's find partition. So, let's scroll down until we find partition.

01:58

Select it.

02:00

Click the "Add parameters" button.

02:04

Now notice down here we can move this up because I want to move it all the way to the top.

02:12

Let's go to Sorting and Grouping.

02:16

Now let's sort by partition.

02:21

Let's do a footer in there.

02:24

Let's make sure we itemize every instance.

02:31

Let's click "OK".

02:34

There we go.

02:35

Now we have these partitioned off.

02:37

We know specifically what bars are in what peer.

02:40

Good job.

Creating a Rebar Partition Schedule

This is getting easy! So suppose we want to just basically group and categorize rebar into an area. For example, we want to designate all of our rebar in Pier 1, but since there are really two piers for P-1 we want to group it into P1-A and P1-B

  • Open the model you have been working in.
  • Go to the PIER-1 PLAN DETAIL view.

Pick a window around all of the rebar in the south pier as shown, selecting all of the bars in that pier.

In the Properties, in the Partition row, add P1-A

Select the rebar in the north pier and add them to the Partition P1-B.

In the Project Browser, scroll down to Schedules/Quantities (all)

Right click on the REBAR LENGTH SCHEDULE

  • Select Duplicate View
  • Select Duplicate

  • Rename it to PARTITION SCHEDULE
  • In the partition schedule Properties, click the Edit button next to Fields

  • Find Partition and add it to the column on the right
  • Click the Move parameter up button to put it at the top

  • Go to the Sorting/Grouping tab
  • Change Sort By: to Partition
  • Check on Footer
  • Check on Itemize every instance

  • Click OK
  • Your schedule should look like the image below:
