In this video, we're going to learn how to manipulate markers and labels for points.
00:12
What we're going to specifically do is we're going to learn how to rotate markers only, rotate labels only, rotate markers and labels together,
00:21
and create a drag state for a label.
00:24
So we're going to work our way clockwise around this parcel.
00:28
First, we're going to go to this point here.
00:31
And if you select it and you hover over the grip at it, what you can see is you have a choice for move point, rotate label and marker, rotate marker.
00:40
And under this grip, you can say move label or rotate label.
00:44
So the first thing we're going to do is we're going to rotate that marker.
00:48
So by selecting that, you can see your point marker rotates, but your point label stays the same.
00:56
So we're going to go ahead and select a new rotation for that point marker and escape out.
01:02
Now we'll move on to this next one and we're going to choose to rotate the label.
01:07
So if you choose rotate label, you can rotate this label.
01:12
And as you can see, the readability for this orients the text differently based on how you're rotating around this point.
01:21
We're going to set a new rotation for that label and move on to the next one.
01:26
You can see that the label rotated, but the marker did not.
01:33
From here, we're going to go ahead and we're going to choose Rotate label and marker.
01:37
So as we rotate this label, the label rotates and so does the marker.
01:41
As you can see, they're both moving together.
01:44
So we're going to set a new orientation for this label and marker, and then we're going to go on to the next point, which is our last one,
01:51
and we're going to set a drag state for this.
01:54
So if you go to the Label Grip Edit, you can go to Move label.
01:59
And what that effectively does is it allows you to move the text around the drawing and it will create a leader that will point to the point,
02:06
but move the text off to and away from it, wherever we set it to.
