Place MEP Connectors

Making it easy for others to connect your design to the building depends on creating
the appropriate MEP connectors. In this lesson you will add MEP Connectors
to the simplified model of the assembly.

Place MEP connectors using features of the design.
Include values for the connectors
Add flow, connection, and voltage information.

The completed exercise

Open the Furnace – MEP Connectors.iam file.
Enter the BIM Content environment
Start the Duct Connector tool in the MEP Connector panel and select the larger hole on the top of the assembly the Burner Exhaust connector with a Banded Connection Type.
Add a Burner Intake Duct Connector to the other large, round hole on top.
Place a rectangular Furnace Supply Duct Connector to the left end of the furnace. Include the size of the selected face and a flow value of 600.
Create another Duct Connector for the Furnace Return on the right end of the model.
Use the Electrical Connector tool to place a Control Input to the small hole on the right of the bottom of the design.
Add a balanced Power Input Electrical Connection for 20 amp 120 volts.
Next, add a 1” threaded Pipe Connector for Natural Gas input.
Because there’s no specific System type for this, use Other.
