Let's take a look at how Photocentric leverages Autodesk
00:04
AI within fusion to speed up their workflows.
00:09
We do an awful lot of collaboration with our
00:11
suppliers on the machine in the design workspace,
00:13
passing designs backwards and forwards to make
00:15
sure that we've got everything that we
00:16
need to in the product before we move on to the drawing workspace.
00:19
The automated drawing in fusion really helped us generate an awful lot of
00:22
the complex drawings that we needed in a very short space of time.
00:25
From automated drawings to automated modeling,
00:27
generative design,
00:28
we use all these tools to really speed up our workflow.
00:33
So what is automated modeling?
00:36
Automated modeling takes an input of the geometry
00:39
to be connected and the obstacles to be avoided
00:42
and generates a number of design solutions.
00:45
This allows designers to create geometry faster,
00:49
validate the outcome using simulation,
00:51
and apply minor edits to the form if required.
00:57
Similarly to automated modeling,
00:59
generative design generates geometry to solve
01:02
the problem that the designer defines.
01:05
However,
01:06
it goes a step further and doesn't just consider obstacles and connecting points,
01:11
it also considers different materials,
01:14
applied load cases,
01:15
user defined objectives such as safety factor
01:18
or maximum displacement and manufacturing processes.
01:22
The designer is then presented with a range of options that meet their requirements
01:27
but have the advantage of being able to explore and compare alternative designs,
01:32
manufacturing methods or materials.
01:35
This enables the user to take a more
01:37
holistic approach to the problem they are solving,
01:40
over focussing on a single solution.
01:44
Automated drawing generates detailed technical drawings from the 3D model,
01:49
significantly reducing manual effort.
01:52
This also allows teams to move quickly
01:54
and provide fully defined designs to suppliers.
